Hanukkah Cards for Festival of Lights

Posted by Belinda Summers On 11 July 2008 No Commented

For the Jews, Hannukah is a Festival of Lights for an 8 day period commemorating the commemorating the re dedication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem at the time of the Maccabean Revolt of the 2nd century BCE. On the first day 1 candle will be lighted then so on and so forth. “For eight days they celebrated the rededication of the altar. Then Judah and his brothers and the entire congregation of Israel decreed that the days of the rededication…should be observed…every year…for eight days. (1 Mac.4:56-59)” So it is recommended to send Hannukah Cards too, to relatives from overseas and in United States.
